Biography

Gaia Fugazza was born in Milan and lives and works between Italy and the United Kingdom. She holds an MFA from Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London (2014).

Recent solo and duo exhibitions include Sete at Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, Naples; Making Kin at Richard Saltoun, Rome; A Fool with a Tool at Case Chiuse, Milan; Virginity Is Not a Contraceptive at Richard Saltoun; Antidotes and Their Counterparts at Häusler Contemporary, Zurich; and Ostaggi e Amici at Galleriapiù, Bologna.

Her work has been featured in biennials and institutional exhibitions including the Orobie Biennale; Lofoten International Art Festival; the 13th Baltic Triennial, London; Premio Cairo, Milan; Glasstress, Venice; Mediterranea, Milan; The London Open at Whitechapel Gallery, London; and Hrm 199 Ltd at Tinguely Museum, Basel.

Her performances have been presented at FOROF, Rome; the Royal Academy of Arts, London; Lisson Gallery, London; South London Gallery, London; LUX, London; and Kunsthall Oslo.

Her work is held in the institutional collections of Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, the Deutsche Bank Collection, and the Benetton Collection.
